My whole work setup changed after 3 months in Chiang Mai

Started out in hostels with just a laptop and bad wifi, but after two months I got a proper desk and monitor at a coliving space. The difference in my output was wild - I went from 4 hours of actual work a day to almost 8 once I had a stable setup. Has anyone else noticed a big productivity jump just from upgrading your gear in one spot?

You went from 4 hours to almost 8" - that's crazy. But I gotta push back a little on the gear being the main reason. 3 months in, you probably just got more settled and used to working there. Your routines got better, you knew the coffee shop schedules, all that. The monitor helps for sure, but don't sell yourself short. You built up that work muscle too.

You built up that work muscle too" - that's a good point I hadn't considered. It reminds me of when my niece started working at a bookstore. First month she could barely last 3 hours without needing to sit down, but by month 3 she was running circles around everyone. The managers kept saying it was because they got her a better chair, but she said it was just learning where to stand and how to pace herself. @tylermurray might be onto something with the monitor, but I bet you also just figured out which tables are good for powering through work and which ones are too noisy.
