PSA: People keep saying you need a $3,000 laptop to work from anywhere

I've been on the road for 2 years and my $700 refurbished ThinkPad from 2020 handles all my client video calls and design work just fine in places like Medellin and Lisbon. This idea that you need top-tier gear creates a huge and unnecessary cost barrier for new nomads. So, what's the real minimum tech setup you've found that actually works?

Seriously, I read an article that basically said the same thing. A lot of that high-end stuff is just for bragging rights. My old mid-range laptop has never let me down for actual work.

But my video editing would crash on anything less.
