Hot take: Those YouTube tutorials hyping up liquid metal thermal paste are half wrong

I finally built a liquid metal thermal paste setup for my PS5 after seeing all the modders swear by it for quieter fans and lower temps. Spent about $30 on the paste and spent 2 hours carefully applying it with that special brush. After booting up Horizon Forbidden West for 45 minutes, my temps dropped maybe 3 degrees C but the fan noise barely changed. Here's the kicker: I opened it back up a week later and saw the liquid metal had shifted slightly, almost shorting some caps. I had to clean it all off and go back to standard paste. Honestly, I think those channels are only showing the best case scenario. Has anyone else here had a similar experience where a mod just didn't deliver what the hype claimed?

Changed my mind after reading this. You're right, the hype is way overblown.

@wendy72 see that's what I wonder, is it REALLY that serious? I feel like every month there's some new game or show everyone loses their minds over and then a week later nobody cares. Last year it was that big survival game, remember? Everyone said it would change gaming forever. Now I can't even remember the name. People just get caught up in the moment and act like everything is the end of the world.
