Stood in line at the DMV for 45 minutes and suddenly understood thermal paste application

Watching the clerk spread that sticker onto my license with such slow, even pressure... it hit me that I've been rushing my thermal paste spreads for years. Used a pea-sized drop on my last PS5 fan swap and the temps dropped 8 degrees. Anybody else learn dumb life lessons from random places like this?

Watching that DMV clerk work with surgical precision on my license made me realize I've been treating thermal paste like I'm frosting a cake. Figured the "less is more" approach applies to government paperwork and CPU cooling apparently. Guess my PS5 fan swap was the real world equivalent of a perfect drivers license photo.

Funny enough, my best thermal paste job came after watching a sushi chef roll maki at a food court. That light, even touch just clicked for me.
