That $7 drywall sanding sponge idea actually worked for me
I was patching a 4x4 hole in my hallway drywall and the dust was getting everywhere, so I tried wet sanding with a sponge I saw on a YT video. It clogged up fast at first, but after rinsing it every couple swipes it left the mud smooth with zero dust in the air. Anyone else switched to wet sanding for small patches or do you still bust out the pole sander for everything?

You rinsed it every couple swipes and still got a smooth finish? That honestly blows my mind. I tried wet sanding once and spent more time wringing out the sponge than actually sanding, plus the mud turned into this weird paste that smeared worse than with a dry sheet. Maybe I gave up too early, but the zero dust part is tempting for hallway patches where the wife gets on my case about the fine white film on everything.
