Finally fixed the flickering ceiling fan light in my Chicago apartment

Last month my living room fan light started strobing like a club every time I turned it on, and I figured I'd need an electrician. I opened the canopy on a Tuesday and found a loose wire nut that had wiggled free from vibration, so I twisted it back on and wrapped it in electrical tape. Has anyone else had loose connections inside a fan cause weird flicker, or was mine just a fluke?
