My buddy swore a hair dryer could fix a wet phone, and I was desperate.

Phone fell in a sink full of water, and he said to put it in a bag of rice for a day, then hit it with low heat from a hair dryer for five minutes. It actually worked, the screen came back on. Is the hair dryer part safe, or did I just get lucky?

Glad it worked out lol, that's always such a relief. The hair dryer is a bit risky though, you probably got lucky it didn't fry anything.

Wow, I totally would have said the hair dryer was fine a few years ago. I used to do the same thing with electronics. Then I saw a video of someone using one on a laptop keyboard and it warped the plastic underneath. The heat is just too uneven and it can mess up parts you can't even see. You got really lucky this time. I'd stick with just the rice or those silica gel packs next time.

That trick can melt the glue inside the phone.
