Threw $80 at a 'universal' laptop charger that fried my battery

Plugged it in, smelled burning plastic within 5 minutes. Battery never held charge again after that. Anyone else get burned by those sketchy generic chargers?

Man I had almost the exact same thing happen with a cheap universal charger from Amazon. I learned the hard way to just pay a little more for the official one or at least a reputable brand like Anker or something. Sucks about your battery though, those generic ones are such a gamble.
