Hit 2,000 hours on my dredge pump last week

Didn't even realize I was close until I checked the log. Felt weirdly proud for a piece of equipment. Anyone else track hours like that?

You said "it's a machine that just does its job until something breaks," but don't you think that kind of thinking is exactly how you end up with a 10,000 dollar repair instead of a 500 dollar service? Tracking hours lets you catch wear parts before they fail and keeps that pump running smooth. Why would you wait for something to break if a little record keeping can save you both time and money?

Hold on, is tracking hours on a dredge pump really that deep though? I mean, 2,000 hours is nice and all but it's a machine that just does its job until something breaks, right?
