Tried using a 6-inch knife for taping a whole room, my wrists still hurt 3 days later

Switched to a 6-inch knife for the entire taping job on a 12x14 bedroom to see if it would speed things up. It just made my hands cramp and left more ridges to sand. Has anyone else found a good reason to use smaller tools for bigger jobs?

A 12x14 bedroom with a 6 inch knife? That sounds miserable. My wrists ache just thinking about it. I tried that once on a small closet and my hand was cramping up after the first wall.

Wondering if a 6 inch knife was the real problem or if the technique was off. Did you try going at an angle or just straight cuts?
