Vent: The old timer at L&L Supply who saw me struggling with a corner bead and just said 'stop fighting it, let the mud do the work'

He didn't say another word, just walked away, and after 12 years in this trade that 5-second comment made me realize I've been overthinking corners this whole time, anyone else get a tip from a stranger that stuck with you?

Man I had a buddy who spent years fighting drywall tape until some random guy at Home Depot told him "it's not wallpaper, man, just push it in and let it set." Changed his whole approach overnight.

Ran into this with a buddy trying to hang a ceiling fan. He'd watched three YouTube videos and still fought the mounting bracket for an hour. I walked over, handed him a beer, and said "bro, the bracket ain't going anywhere. Just hold it up and screw it in." He looked at me like I was a genius.

The Home Depot guy is always the real MVP (seriously, those part-timers know more than the managers). It's funny how we overthink simple stuff because of all the "expert" advice online. Your buddy with the mounting bracket proves that sometimes you just gotta stop watching videos and actually try it. The beer was a nice touch too (that probably helped him relax more than the advice did). I've noticed that with drywall work people treat it like brain surgery when it's really just mud, tape, and patience. Once you get past the fear of messing up, half the battle is already won.
