Question about those blue recycling bins in Edmonton

I signed up for the new curbside composting pilot last month and tossed in some apple cores and banana peels. But after three pickups, they haven't taken my bin even once because I mixed in a plastic produce bag by accident. I learned you have to use the specific paper bags they give you or the whole bin gets flagged. Has anyone else had trouble with the sorting rules for this program?

That's SO frustrating. Total pain with those strict rules.

Is it really that big of a deal though? I get that rules can be annoying, but sometimes people blow things way out of proportion. Most of the time these rules are there for a reason, even if it doesn't make sense to us right away. Unless it's costing you money or time, I'd just shrug it off and move on. Not everything needs to be a whole emotional thing.
