Got called out for my messy panel labeling and it actually helped
A few months back, an inspector in Kansas City looked at a panel I wired and said, 'Son, your work is clean, but your labels look like my grandma's shopping list.' He was right. I was just scribbling breaker numbers with a regular pen. He told me to get a proper label maker and use a consistent system, like circuit number, room, and load. I bought a Brady labeler the next day and now spend the extra 10 minutes per panel. It makes troubleshooting so much faster for me or the next guy. Anyone else have a small change that made a big difference in your daily work?

@charles678 got a point, but I think you mean terminal or wire labels, not panel labels.

Kansas City inspectors don't mess around.

Yeah, it feels like that everywhere now. Used to be a quick chat, now it's all paperwork and checklists. Makes you wonder how anything gets built.
