I was stripping wire insulation with my linesman pliers for way too long
I was doing a panel swap in an old house in Mesa and my hands were killing me after a full day. The homeowner, a retired guy, watched me for a minute and said, 'You know, they make a tool for that.' He dug out an old pair of Klein strippers from his garage. I tried them on the next wire and it was like butter. My whole wrist felt better instantly. How many other simple tricks am I missing out on?

Get yourself a pair of those automatic strippers, the kind that self-adjust to the wire size. I fought using them for years, thought my linesmans were fine. Total game changer for service work, saves your hands on big jobs. That retired guy was right, the right tool just makes the work flow. Keep an eye on the old timers, they've already made all the mistakes so we don't have to.

Wait, those automatic strippers are great but they're not self-adjusting. You still have to pick the right hole for the wire gauge. The mechanism just opens and closes the jaws. Still a huge time saver, just don't want someone to buy them expecting magic.
