The lighting panel at that old theater downtown had me scratching my head
I was checking out the electrical room at the Rialto Theater in Portland last week and the panel schedule was all handwritten in pencil from 1972 with scribbled corrections, does anyone have a good system for relabeling old panels without tearing out the whole thing?

Oh, did someone say haunted? Because I swear my house's panel has a ghost that rearranges the labels every time I open the door. But for real, I'd just take a good photo with my phone, print it out, and then carefully tape a fresh copy over the old one. You can also buy preprinted sticky label sheets at the hardware store that fit right over the door, which is what I did for my garage subpanel. Worked like a charm and saved me from having to decipher my own handwriting from 2019.

All handwritten in pencil from 1972" sounds more like a minor inconvenience than a real problem. Unless the wires are literally smoking, just take a photo with your phone and make a new label sheet in Word or something. People act like old panels are haunted when really they just need a sharpie and some patience.
