I was dead wrong about magnetic guides for elevator rails

Thought they were a gimmick for years until I installed a set on a job downtown and saved 45 minutes on alignment alone. Has anyone else gotten better results with these vs. traditional string lines?

Used to be a string line diehard myself. Tried those magnetic guides on a high rise retrofit last month and it was a no brainer after the first floor. Saved way more time than I expected.

Did you mean magnetic guides for rail alignment or something else?

My buddy actually swore by string lines forever until he borrowed a set of the magnetic guides from another crew and called me that night saying he felt like an idiot for fighting with string for so many years. Said he cut his setup time in half easy.
