A client told me I was too gentle with her skin and it shook me

I had a regular client yesterday, she's in her 50s and has been getting facials for years, and she said I was being too careful and not giving her the results she wanted. She told me she actually prefers a deeper exfoliation even if it means a little irritation because she feels like the skin turns over faster. Has anyone else had a client push back against a gentle approach and had to totally rethink their technique?

Respectfully, a little irritation isn't the same as good results long term.

Wait, hold on. Are you telling me that being a little bit bothered by something doesn't automatically mean you'll get perfect results forever? That just doesn't make sense to me. I mean, I've been annoyed at my slow internet for weeks and I still have buffering issues, so I don't see how my irritation is supposed to magically fix anything long term.
