A client told me my facials felt robotic and it stuck with me
Three years ago I had this regular named Linda who came in every month for a basic facial. One day she just looked at me mid-service and said "you're doing all the right moves but it feels like you're skipping something" and I was so confused. I realized I was so focused on following the exact steps from school that I forgot to actually check in with her skin along the way. I changed how I work by adding small pauses to feel the skin texture and ask about sensitivities before moving to the next step. Now I adjust pressure and product based on what I'm feeling in the moment instead of a script. It feels more like a conversation now than a checklist which honestly makes the whole thing more relaxing for both of us. Has anyone else gotten feedback that totally flipped how they work?

Read a study once that said people remember how you made them feel more than the actual service.
