Can we talk about hitting 50 versions of my grandma's biscuit recipe in my notebook?
I just realized I've been tweaking her base recipe for over three years, adding notes like 'used buttermilk from the new place on Main St' and 'baked at 425 for exactly 14 minutes last Tuesday', and it finally feels like my own thing, not just a copy.

Seriously, it's just biscuits, right?

Ugh that reminds me of my uncle who says chili is just meat and beans. Meanwhile he has a secret spice blend he guards like treasure.

That's how family recipes become your own, through all those tiny changes. The notes about specific ingredients and times turn it from a formula into your personal process. Congrats on hitting version 50, that's legit.
