Tried a new glue-on shoe method on a tricky quarter crack case, and the horse was sound in 24 hours.
It was a 6-year-old warmblood with a persistent crack. I used the standard acrylic patch and a bar shoe, but this time I followed a tip from a clinic in Kentucky and added a fiberglass mesh layer under the patch. I was fully expecting a week of stall rest at least. Checked him the next day and he was walking out totally fine on it. Has anyone else had results this fast with a similar technique, or did I just get lucky with this particular horse?

Saw a buddy use that mesh trick on a TB last year with the same crazy fast results.

My old coach in Florida banned mesh completely for that reason. He said it forces the ball to spin too fast, which can actually hurt your arm over time. Always made me wonder about the long term trade off.
