Heads up on choosing between a digital mockup and a full physical sample for a client pitch
I went with the digital mockup to save the $800 sample cost, but the client couldn't visualize the drape and passed on the project. Anyone else had a pitch fall flat because of this choice?

Ugh, that's the worst. Happened to me last year with a linen fabric, the digital version just looked stiff.

My buddy ordered a digital print of some curtains with a velvet texture. Looked amazing on screen, like real fabric folds. Showed up looking like a cheap plastic tablecloth, zero depth. He was so mad he sent it back the same day. Said it felt like they just slapped a flat photo on there. Total waste of time and money.

Yeah, I learned that lesson the hard way too. Tried to save on a sample for a silk blend, and my digital mockup made it look like shiny wrapping paper. The client asked if it was for a birthday present, not a dress. Sometimes you just have to eat the cost because a flat picture can't show how something MOVES.
