Question about the overuse of raw edges in streetwear design

I keep seeing new streetwear lines from local designers in Brooklyn that just slap raw, frayed edges on every single piece and call it a design. It's lazy. I saw a pop-up last week where a $180 hoodie had unfinished seams that started to unravel after one wash. That's not a style choice, it's a quality control fail. Has anyone else found a way to make deconstructed looks that actually last?

Ugh, that's just cutting corners! A good deconstructed piece needs some hidden stitching or a proper selvedge to hold it together.

Paul's over there acting like he's the foreman at the raw edge factory, lmao. My deconstructed tee from the mall is held together with hope and a safety pin.
