Thought a bright yellow raincoat was a dumb idea for Portland weather.
Made a prototype last month with leftover vinyl from a project. Got stopped three times on the street asking where to buy it. What's a fabric that's cheerful but actually practical for constant drizzle?

Vinyl doesn't breathe at all, you'd be a sweaty mess. Look for a PU-coated polyester, it's waterproof but way less clammy.

Wait, you used to think vinyl was fine for rain gear? Honestly I had a cheap vinyl raincoat for years and just dealt with being damp from sweat. Tbh I thought that was normal until I borrowed a friend's PU-coated jacket for a hike. It was a total game changer, I stayed dry from the rain but didn't feel like I was in a plastic bag. Never going back to straight vinyl now.
