Tbh, my fermented carrots keep going slimy and I don't get why

Ngl, I followed all the steps for fermenting carrots. I used the right salt, kept them submerged, and stored them in a cool spot. But each time, after a few days, they get this gross slimy texture. I've tried different jars, changed the water, and even adjusted the salt ratio. Honestly, it's driving me crazy because I see other people's ferments looking perfect. Is it something in my tap water? Or maybe the temperature in my kitchen? I just want crunchy carrots, not a slimy mess. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Tbh, this slimy carrot thing is a perfect example of how small, unseen stuff can wreck the best plans. Like, I see it all the time with bread baking where the moisture in the air changes everything, and you never even know it. Your tap water probably has chlorine killing the good bugs, same as how street lights can mess with your sleep even with curtains closed. It's crazy how we set up all these controls but miss the one thing we can't see. Maybe try filtered water next time, just to rule it out.

Honestly, slimy ferments happen to the best of us. It's a good reminder that control is an illusion in these old school kitchen projects. My money is on your tap water having chlorine in it.
