Found a cheap fix for squeaky floorboards using baby powder
Moved into my 1980s fixer-upper in Cleveland 3 months ago and those hallway floorboards squeaked like crazy every time I walked to the bathroom at night. A neighbor told me to sprinkle baby powder into the gaps between the boards, then work it in with a soft brush. I tried it on a 10 foot stretch last weekend and now it's dead silent. Has anyone else found a random household item that fixed something annoying around the house?

Baby powder is magic, I used it on my stairs last month and they've been silent ever since.

Worked great on my hardwood stairs too. Just dusted a little between the treads and the squeaks disappeared completely. Honestly surprised more people dont know about this trick.
