Had a 400 square foot glue-down vinyl plank job go sideways in a basement last Tuesday
The concrete slab had a high spot I missed, and the planks started popping up after the first day because the adhesive couldn't bond right. Anyone got a good method for finding those low spots before you start laying?

Honestly, that's a solid start but you gotta get a long straight edge in there too. I use a 6 foot level and slide it around the whole floor, marking any spots where light shows underneath. Tbh, even after grinding a high spot, I'll go back over it with the level again to double check. A lot of guys skip that second pass and it comes back to bite them. For big dips, a self leveler is the only real fix before you even think about adhesive.

Ever try a laser level for that?

Seems like overkill for most floors, @evant48.
