Rant: I spent $80 on the complete 'Space Precinct' DVD set and regret it

I mean, I saw people online saying it was a cool forgotten 90s sci-fi cop show. I bought the whole series box set last month for eighty bucks. The effects are so bad it's not even fun, and the stories are just boring. Has anyone else been let down by a show everyone else seems to love?

Totally get that, man. The hype for old shows can be a real trap. You see the cool fan art and people talking about how great it was, so you drop cash expecting a hidden gem. Then you actually watch it and the charm is just... not there. Happened to me with a different old series, felt like burning money lol. Sometimes the memory is way better than the real thing.

Yeah, the "memory is better" thing hits different for me. I rewatched an old cartoon from my childhood recently, and the pacing felt slow, but the weird jokes landed even harder as an adult. It was like finding new layers I missed before.
