Had to pick between ceramic blanket and hard vacuum-formed board for my furnace lining

I was relining my furnace at the shop last month and couldn't decide between ceramic blanket or a hard vacuum-formed board. Ended up going with the board because the blanket kept shedding fibers into the air and driving me crazy. Three weeks in and the board holds heat way better, no shedding, and my foreman in Pittsburgh actually noticed the difference. Anybody else prefer one over the other for furnace linings?

Man that fiber shedding drove me nuts too, I switched to the board about six months back and my heat retention jumped 15 degrees easy. The foreman out of Cleveland didn't even need a thermometer to call it out.

Oh come on, that 15 degrees is all in your head. I stuck with the fiber and my temps stayed exactly where they were, the only thing that changed was my wallet when I saw the price difference. You guys got sold on a gimmick and now you're seeing things that aren't there.
