Overheard a guy at a co-working space in Austin say freelancers who charge by the hour are idiots
He's right. I switched to flat project rates six months ago and my income jumped 40% without working more hours. Anybody else make the switch and see a real difference?

Totally agree, flat rate changed everything for me too. I used to drag projects out just to fill hours without even realizing it, and clients were always asking for "just one more small thing" for free. Now I get paid for the value I deliver, not the time I waste staring at my screen lol. My biggest surprise was how much less stressed I am not tracking every minute. It forces you to get good at scoping work upfront and that alone is worth the switch.

Right? Flat rate is the way to go. @adam_nguyen7 nailed it, I saw a huge bump in my income after switching too.
