I was buying the 2 pound bag of rice for years, then saw the 20 pound bag price per ounce at the market.

Honestly, is it really that tricky though? I mean, maybe the bigger print for price per ounce is just because it's the standard unit for a lot of stuff on the shelf. They gotta pick one to highlight, and ounces work for spices and cereal too. It's probably just easier for their system, not some big plan to fool people. If you take a second to look at the small print, you have the info.

Check the price per pound, not ounce.

But what about when they list both? I've seen packages where the price per ounce is highlighted in big letters, but the price per pound is in tiny print. It feels like they're trying to trick you. Do you think that's on purpose, or just bad label design?
