Warning: I lost a full day's pay on a paint job because of a bad batch of clear coat

I was finishing a 2018 Ford F-150 hood repair last week, and the clear coat I sprayed on turned milky overnight. The can was from a new case I just opened, and it looked fine when I mixed it. I had to sand the whole thing back down and redo it, which cost me about $400 in lost time and materials. Has anyone else had a clear coat go bad straight from the supplier, and what did you do about it?

Bought a $200 'universal' wire tracer back in 2015. Thing was useless on anything with power. Lost a whole afternoon and the cash.

Man, those cheap tracers are the worst for live wires! @butler.abby is right though, they're a lifesaver for dead circuits. Gotta have the right tool for the job.

Ugh, right? My big project for the year was finally organizing my garage. Then I see a giant dirt pyramid built with baskets. Really takes the wind out of your sails.

Back in the day, we used to just guess on torque specs with a breaker bar and a grunt.

Doubt it's that big a deal. Most choices are small and don't need a spreadsheet. Data can't fix everything.
