My fitness tracker counted steps while I was driving during a review.
It thought my car ride was a marathon, so the data was all wrong.

Actually those trackers are still pretty useful for most daily stuff. The driving thing is a known glitch but it's easy to fix by just deleting that part of the data. You just have to know how to work around its limits.

Seriously, this is so common with those trackers. Honestly, I read an article that said they use motion sensors that can't tell driving from walking. Tbh, it picks up all the bumps and vibrations on the road. Ngl, it totally ruins your step count for the day. I heard some people say it happens on buses too, not just cars. Makes you wonder why we even bother with these things sometimes.

My friend thought she hit her step goal after a road trip, but it was just the car vibrations messing with her tracker. She was pretty bummed.
