Warning: people keep calling this common rock 'slag' when it's not

I keep seeing folks post pictures of vesicular basalt, the kind with all the little holes, and everyone jumps to say it's industrial slag. It matters because you're missing a cool volcanic story. Has anyone else run into this mix-up at their local creek beds?

My buddy had the same "slag" thing happen with his basalt find.

Found a piece in the Poconos last year that got called slag three times before someone ID'd it as basalt, lol.

Read somewhere that basalt in the Poconos often looks that way because of all the glacial till mixing it up. @harper_wright probably knows that struggle.
