Found a weird detail about my childhood home that doesn't add up

I was looking at old photos from when I was a kid, from about 1998. In one picture, our living room has a big bay window. I asked my mom about it last week, and she swore our house never had a bay window, only a flat one. I checked the town's property records online, and the original blueprints show the flat window. But I have three different photos with that bay window clear as day. It's not a camera trick, you can see the whole room. Has anyone else had a memory backed by photos that straight up contradicts the official record?

Check if the photos have a date stamp.

Actually, @hannahcoleman, most digital photos don't have a visible date stamp anymore.

Wait, are you serious? That's actually kind of a big deal. I just went and looked through my whole camera roll and you're totally right. The date is hidden in the info now, not printed on the photo itself. Makes it way harder to sort through old pictures. I guess I never really noticed the change.
