Spent $120 on a specific font pack and it completely changed my project

I was working on a branding job for a small coffee shop and the free fonts just weren't cutting it. I dropped the cash on a full pack from a foundry I liked, and it gave me the exact vintage feel I needed. The client loved the final look so much they paid me an extra $200. Has anyone else had a font purchase pay off that well?

That vintage feel you mentioned is key. I bought a font for a brewery logo that had just the right worn-in look. It cost about eighty bucks but got me two more jobs from people who saw it. Sometimes the right typeface is the whole project.

Totally worth it. Good fonts are like hiring another designer. I bought a script font for a bakery client last year. It had these perfect little swashes. Made their whole brand look expensive and handmade. They still use it on everything. That one font fee bought me so much goodwill.
