My attempt at custom engraving went HILARIOUSLY wrong, but now I can fix scratches like a PRO.

Actually, I've found that watching a good how-to video before starting saves me from big messes. Like with engraving, if I practice on cheap scrap first, I don't end up with a ruined piece that needs fixing. Sure, mistakes happen, but saying they're the best teacher feels like making excuses for slip-ups. Sometimes it's just smarter to learn the right way from the get-go.

Isn't it weird how the biggest screw-ups often teach you the most useful skills? Messing things up is basically the best teacher.

Wait, you're saying the biggest mess is the only way to learn? That feels wrong.
