My slow pour-over ritual finally clicked after a rainy morning

Agree with @emman68, slow drips build way better than rushed floods.

Had to choose between a full tear-out or floating a new floor over old tile on a kitchen job

Totally agree about the final look being rock solid. I did a float over tile once to save time and it was a constant headache. Every time someone walked in the kitchen it just FELT wrong, like a hollow sound underfoot. You made the right call taking the extra time. That height difference at the doors and appliances becomes a real problem down the road. Never cutting that corner again.

Kale chips turned my tree job into a squirrel convention

Wait, you think they're going for the sound? I used to figure squirrels were all about the smell with food, but last week I had a bag of those veggie straws in my pocket, the crinkly bag, and had three of them following me branch to branch before I even opened it. Maybe they do key in on certain rustles after all.

Switched from a daily log to a monthly spread and my productivity tanked

Wait you stuck with it for three whole months after seeing your tasks drop that much... that's some serious dedication to a system that clearly wasn't working. I would have gone back to dailies after like a week tops. The empty page pressure is real but letting it slide for that long is wild to me.

I finally realized how install chats have changed over the years

Man, that's so true! I've seen this shift myself and it's kinda wild. What do you think caused the big change, is it just phones or something deeper? Does the quiet make the work go faster or just feel more empty? Have you found any way to get people talking again, or is it a lost cause? I wonder if this is just how all service jobs are now.
