Good call on the sensor swap. That's often the fix for short cycling, especially if it's the outdoor air temperature or coil sensor giving false readings. I always check the evaporator coil for icing too, as low airflow from a dirty filter or blower issue can mimic sensor problems. A quick amp draw check on the compressor during a cycle can tell you a lot.
