Wasted $300 on those snap-together modular storage cubes that looked great in the showroom

Bought a set of those fabric and particleboard cube shelves from a big box store for my new apartment in Columbus, and the dividers started sagging after 3 months under the weight of a few blankets. Has anyone found a budget storage system that actually holds up for more than a year?

Man I felt this in my soul. "Looked great in the showroom" is basically my life story with furniture. My first apartment in Cincy I bought those same cubes and one collapsed when I put a single throw blanket on it, like it was allergic to fabric or something. I switched to those heavy duty plastic bins from Walmart that look like they belong in a garage but honestly they've survived two moves and five years of abuse. The secret is anything with actual wood or metal frames instead of that fake wood paper stuff. My current setup is a set of metal shelves from a restaurant supply store that cost less than those cubes and I could probably park a car on them.
