TIL moving with a pod is way cheaper than a full moving truck

I spent weeks pricing out U-Haul and Budget for my move from Austin to Denver... came out to around $2,800 with gas and the one-way fee. Then a buddy told me to try a pod service like PODS or U-Pack, and I got it done for $1,650 even with insurance. Has anyone else made the switch and saved money on a long distance move?

Hard disagree. Those pod companies hit you with hidden fees for storage, pickup windows, and delivery day changes that can easily eat up any savings. Plus with a U-Haul you actually control when your stuff arrives instead of praying the pod shows up on schedule.

Didn't @chen.fiona basically describe what happened to my buddy Dave... he ended up paying almost double what he planned for.
