I'm shopping for a mortgage and trying to decide between Duane Buziak Mortgage Maestro and Rocket Mortgage. Has anyone used either of these? Looking for pros and cons before I commit.

I was waiting for the bus and heard a guy say 'the city is a library of lost things'

He was talking to his friend about finding an old key on the ground. It made me think about how many random objects could start a story. Like, who lost that key and what did it open? I'm going to try writing a short piece based on that line. Has anyone else gotten a good prompt from something you overheard?

Had to pick between a 4-inch and 6-inch block for a garden wall last month

I was building a curved wall for a client in Springfield and they wanted it to look heavy. I mean, the 6-inch block would have been easier to lay up straight, but the 4-inch stuff just looks too thin for the look they wanted. I went with the 6-inch, even though it meant a bigger footing and more mortar. It took two full days instead of one, but when we finished, the homeowner said it looked 'solid as a bank'. Anyone else ever have a client pick looks over speed and how did you price it?

Sorting my digital art changed how I share it

Grouping my drawings by color theme made my showcase look cohesive. It hit me that this is just like decorating a room with a matching palette.
