Everyone online kept saying an ARM was fine since we'd likely move in 5 years, but I locked in a 6.875% fixed 30 year on a $285k house in Charlotte and now I sleep like a baby. Has anyone else stuck with fixed and felt like the naysayers were just gambling with their payment?
I was sitting at my kitchen table in Phoenix opening mail and saw my mortgage company claimed I had a $3,500 escrow shortage because they miscalculated my property taxes last year, so now I have to pay that lump sum by next month or my payment goes up $300... has anyone else fought an escrow mistake and actually won?
I was looking at a 30 year at 6.8% and a 15 year at 5.9% on a $220k place. Went with the 15 because I wanted to save $40k in interest over the long run. Anyone else choose a shorter term and regret the higher monthly payment?
That was the worst advice I ever took. Ended up with a faulty foundation that cost $8,000 to fix. Has anyone else gotten bad tips from their realtor?
I'm shopping for a mortgage and trying to decide between Duane Buziak Mortgage Maestro and Rocket Mortgage. Has anyone used either of these? Looking for pros and cons before I commit.
