Spent 10 years airing down wrong

Had a buddy from Moab watch me air down at the trailhead last month. He laughed and showed me I was pumping back up too fast. My tires were always uneven and I blamed the tire shop for bad balancing. Anyone else just assume they knew the basics?

... and that's exactly how I learned my pressure gauge was 8 PSI off. Had a old school mechanic give me a lesson on a trail ride once. He pulled out his own gauge and we checked mine against it. Turns out my fancy digital one was reading high after I dropped it on a rock the week before. I'd been thinking I was running 28 but actually rolling on 36. So maybe check your gauge too, just saying.

Oh man that exact thing happened to me with a gauge I dropped on concrete, ran too high all summer.
