Spent 3 hours trying to get a seized brake caliper bolt out of my '98 Land Cruiser before realizing the bracket was cracked.
What's the best way to source a replacement bracket for an 80 series without paying dealership prices?

Been there, snapped a bracket on my 4Runner doing the same thing. Hit up the local junkyard, they usually have a few old Cruisers picked clean. Online part-outs on the forums are way cheaper than the dealer too.

Man that's the worst kind of discovery after all that work. I've fought with those old bolts before and it just drains you. Joel's right about junkyards, they're your best bet for something like a bracket. The forums are solid too, people are always parting out rigs. Just make sure you get one from the same year and axle side.

Ever feel like the universe just laughs at your wrenching skills? Check the classifieds on ih8mud, those guys hoard parts.
