Saved my dinner" is a bit dramatic, right? It's just chicken getting a little dry, not a kitchen fire. Spraying water seems like a weird fix when you could just turn the heat down. People act like every cooking mistake is a total disaster now.

I read a cooking blog last week that said a quick water spray can actually help keep meat moist by creating steam. I see your point, Mary, about just turning down the heat being the simpler answer. Sometimes these kitchen hacks do feel like solutions for a problem we created ourselves.
