My neighbor's air fryer tip about preheating changed my wings game
Last Sunday I brought over my sad, rubbery wings to his porch and he told me to stop skipping the preheat, even if it adds 3 minutes. He said the basket needs to feel like a pizza stone, not a warm towel, and honestly the crisp factor is night and day now. Anyone else have a random neighbor moment that fixed a recipe for them?

Preheating cast iron for an hour is a whole different level of dedication. I once left mine on medium too long while I got distracted by a phone call, and the kitchen smelled like a forge for two days. My condolences to Rick's smoke alarm, that thing probably still flinches every time he turns on the stove. At least he was trying to do it right, even if it almost became a house fire story. Sometimes the people who care the most about cooking are the ones who almost burn the place down. I bet whatever he made in that pan tasted incredible though, assuming the smoke detector didn't drown it out.

My buddy Rick preheated his cast iron for an hour once, nearly set off the smoke alarm.
