Yikes, that sounds like a real pain to clean up. My own craft fails usually end with me covered in glue and regret. Kid's got big ideas though, gotta give him that.

Yeah the glue and regret part is so real. I once tried making a glitter volcano for my niece and it fused my kitchen table to a plastic tarp. Big ideas always come with those forever messes, like when my little cousin decided to "help" paint and used a glue gun on the walls instead.
