Hot take: wireless sensors are not always faster to install than hardwired

I just spent 6 hours on a 4 zone wireless system at a house in Oak Park because the signal kept dropping through their plaster walls. Everyone says wireless saves time, but I could have run wire for all 4 zones in under 3 hours. The repeater placement alone took 2 hours of trial and error. Has anyone else found plaster and lath walls wrecking their wireless install times?

Did you end up trying a mesh system with wired backhaul for the worst spots, or did you just accept the dead zones? Curious what worked for you in practice, because I've had mixed luck with repeaters in those old plaster walls. The signal just bounces around weirdly in my experience.
