Put in a Vista 20p at my buddy's house last month and came back to check the programming yesterday
When I first installed it, the zones were all programmed with default response times and it was triggering false alarms from a cat brushing the sensor. I tweaked the dialer delay and swapped the entry zones to a 45-second response, and yesterday he said he's had zero false trips since. Has anyone else found that adjusting the zone timing makes or breaks a residential install?

Read somewhere that the Vista panels are super picky about zone timing for sure.

Noticed the same thing in my own setup at home. It's like once you dial in the response times right, everything else just falls into place. I've also found that tweaking the alarm delay on the keypad makes a big difference for how often the battery gets drained. It's like finding the sweet spot between being safe and not triggering off every little thing. Reminds me of how you have to adjust sensitivity on a gym system to get consistent results without false starts.
