Showerthought: Why I was dead wrong about powerline adapters for alarm panels
I spent 5 years telling customers to hardwire everything. Told a guy last Tuesday his basement panel would never work with a powerline adapter. He insisted on trying it anyway for a $200 install. That was 3 months ago and the thing hasn't dropped once. I still hate them for high-security jobs but for basic residential stuff they actually hold up better than I thought. Anyone else had a tool or trick they trashed for years then changed their mind on?
